The Obedience of Christ
"[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)," (2 Corinthians 10:5 AMP)
Reflection: Would it not be truly amazing and completely freeing if we would just let go of ‘lofty things’ and the as King James Version relates, ‘imaginations’ that ‘sets itself up against the true knowledge of God’. No more fantasy thinking. No more stinky thinking. No more distractions. No more disobedience (not believing in His finish work, not believing rightly and thinking that we have to do something to earn something that the Father has already given us through Jesus) to our Lord and Savior.
When we take our eyes off Jesus and His finish work, at times we start to think too much about ourselves and indulge in thoughts or a mind set that is based solely on us, what we think leading to what we can do or should do. Shortly thereafter, self condemnation moves in and disrupts your peace and joy. The Father did not take away your peace or joy, Christians at times, forfeit it.
Its all about the obedience of Jesus Christ to the Father. We look to the perfection of Jesus believing as He is so are we in the world.
